Lake Norman Half Marathon Turkey Trot, 10K & 5K was held in Mooresville, NC on December 21, 2024. Traditionally this race takes place at Lake Norman State Park but due to hurricane Helene impact we had to move the venue.

This was the 3rd year of this race and the first year of the Lake Norman Half Marathon Series.
The weather was crazy cold and eventually warmed up to freezing by the 7:30am start. The team was on point making sure all things were done as needed to – including signage on the new course.
The only hiccup was the sound system – for some reason it didn’t work well – so we had to use the megaphone however, later we did get it working again.
The half marathoners left at 7:30am the 5K runners left around 7:45am.

The Half Marathon course was 2 loops with about 893 feet of climbing.
